Reamortize is a small, independent site with one goal: helping homeowners understand what a mortgage recast would actually do for them before they call their lender.
Most mortgage calculators are built to sell you a refinance. Recasting gets a paragraph at best, even though it's often cheaper and simpler. We built a calculator that focuses on recasting and shows the trade-off honestly, including when keeping your current payment and paying off early would save you more.
How the calculator works
The calculator uses the standard amortization formula that lenders use to set monthly payments. It runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored on any server.
Results are estimates for principal and interest only. Your lender's figures may differ slightly because of rounding, payment timing, or how they apply the lump sum.

We're not a lender, broker, or financial advisor, and we don't sell your information. The site is supported by advertising, and no lender pays to be featured or recommended.
